Another day of tuna fishing with a crew of three, dad and his two boys. The day begins with a 55 mile run to some 68 degree water. Our first encounter takes about an our when our left rigger gets smashed. After a hard fought struggle were shocked when a 175# mako pops up from the deep. After a 10' release Joey resets the spread and about 30 minutes later we put our first yellowfin in the box....

Some days you can do no wrong, like yesterday. Some days you can do no right, like today. Out with a crew of regulars for a day of tuna action that turned into a day of no action. These crazy fish wanted nothing to do with our worms...I mean nothing! Not a look, sniff or anything. Back in the slip with some very understanding guys and a embarrassed captain.

After several days off we're back on the water again with a couple from Lebanon County, PA. First hour is slow until we get hit by a couple jumbo size skipjacks. We continue to work the area even as the other boats loose interest and head elsewhere. About thirty minutes after the final boat paddles away our bar get crushed and after a great fight Joey puts a fat YF in the box. The next hour is...

Two day of crazy wind and long rides in  very very sporty seas. Saturday's trip begins in super calm water and hungry tuna. Several bites and a couple in the box before 9 am, then the wind hits and instead of NNE it's NNW.....VERY VERY BAD! At 9:45 I tell the guys we need to leave before things get dangerous. Sunday's trip starts with more wind than the day before but fishable and it's supposed...

Epic day of tuna action with the boys from Conestoga PA. First two hours only produce two bites and both yellowfin make it in the box. Sometime around 10:30 we get hit. Nine of our eleven rod spread go down and somehow we manage to hold on to six. Next few hours produce several more encounters adding a additional four yf to the box. Back in the slip with a dozen nice yellowfin in the box.

Out with a couple from Michigan for a day if tuna action. After a 61 mile run Joey throws out a eleven rod spread and we start looking...and looking....and looking. Lunch time rolls around and today is starting to feel eerily similar to our last tuna trip.  The radio is dead, no one doing anything except a marlin or two here and there.  After hearing of a tuna caught in shallower water we make...

Out for a day of deep drop action with a family from PA who have never tried deep dropping before. Hit the 325' depth and set down the baits in super nice conditions. First hour was good but a few too many undersize black sea bass for my liking. Make a one mile move looking for some jumbo knotheads. The next three hours are epic! Jumbo black sea bass mixed in with blueline tiles. Shortly before...

Ran 25 miles east with Rodney's crew looking for some sea bass. The bite starts out slow but after about an hour the current changes and the fish go on the feed. Doubles and triples are going in the cooler at a breakneck pace. Shortly after 11 Joey gives me the word that we have 90 in the box and we head for home.

Made a big run east in semi sporty conditions with a crew of great guys from Hanover PA looking for some tuna for their freezer. With high hopes Joey puts out the spread after our 65 mile run. The next seven hours produce nothing, zilch, zero! Several times during the day after looking at my fish finder I'd have though every rod in the spread should have gone down. Tuna marks all over the screen...

06/05/20 Out with a crew of fathers and sons from VA for a day of shark and sea bass fishing. Stiff winds and sporty seas greeted us as we cleared the inlet but these guys were ready.  Joey sets the shark spread and then hands out a couple sea bass outfits. The sea bass bite was okay but the sharks just didn't want to play today with only two "run-offs" throughout the entire day. Must say I was...
