After a day of seemingly non-stop calls and rearranging crews I final have a group of high school grads ready to go head-to-head with our tuna. Pushed east toward the south end of the Baltimore canyon. With 30 mile to go I take a peek at my cell phone to view my downloaded sea surface temperature satellite image only to realize the image is total junk. Out with Tan and the gang again for another day of pounding the Black Sea Bass. First stop had me VERY worried that I made the wrong turn out the inlet but a quick two mile move changed everything. The keepers were coming in fast and furious. At the 4 hour mark we hit our limit (90 keepers) and head for the barn. The guys are already deciding on their 3rd date for the season.

After what seemed like forever Fin Chaser's season got off to a good albeit somewhat sporty start. Fridays opening of black sea bass season found the entire fleet opting to stay tied at dock. Saturday greeted us with stiff winds and sporty seas but we pushed east despite the conditions. The bite was outstanding with a keeper/throwback of about 4:1.
