First two trips of the 2019 season found us looking for tog in moderately sporty seas. Saturdays bite was awesome and the crew of three of ours country’s finest (Air Force) hit their limit long before the bell range. Sundays conditions were similar but way more current and fairly dirty water which must have shut down the bite. Hit six different locations but just couldn’t find any hungry...

Ran 40 miles east today with Lisa & Bruce looking for a “big bite”. Ninety minutes into the day and I finally find some bait to work. First bite nails our long rigger but doesn’t come tight. The next encounter turns out to be a hard pulling false albacore. A few minutes later we get another long rigger bite and this fish quickly empties a 50 wide. While Lisa is fighting her fish one of...

Out for a day of sea bass fishing with a crew of four from Lancaster County PA. The bite started off extremely slow and after 2.5 hours and several moves we only have about 15 keepers in the box. Finally we find a little area that seems to be holding a good number of hungry keepers and the numbers start to add up quickly. By noon we have 70 in the box, 60 for the charter and 10 for Dave’s...

Ran east today with a crew that made a 7 hour drive for a day of offshore action. Our plan, put some fish in the box and get back to safe harbor before the NW wind machine gets cranking. Beat the wind most of the way home but with 11...

Braved a pretty nasty forecast with a crew who really wanted to spend some time on the water. Turned out to be much nicer than the forecast was calling for but still plenty sporty. False Albacore bite was fairly steady throw in a couple mahi for the table and the crew calls it a day shortly after noon.

Finally back on the water after things the ocean calmed down from hurricane Florence. Made a 40 mile run before finding some weeds. The next few hours provide outstanding trolling action on both mahi and fat alberts. With increasing wind, the threat of pending storms and a pretty full box we pull-the-plug around noon and head for the barn.
