Good bye Dorian!, hello mahi.  Started the week off with a day of sea bass action with a crew from J&J Bulkheading. The bite was great and the keeper ratio pretty good too. Mid-week found us offshore with the dynamic duo from Lebanon County, PA. Both days provided great deep drop action on blueline tilefish and jumbo black belly rosefish. Finished both days by adding good numbers of mahi to...

Most of our twelve hour trips found good light tackle action for mahi with a couple limits hut by some crews. Deep drop tilesfish was good on small to medium fish until the wind hit after just a couple drifts. Managed to snag a couple of those oh so tasty wahoo and get Donnell his first marlin. September looks like its shaping up to be awesome!

A few more mahi, a lot more wind! Our mid range gear produced a fair number of bailer size mahi this week as well as the ever present, at least this time of the year, false albacore. Ran to the deep one day and found a couple nicer mahi under some lobster gear as well as getting one angler his very first marlin. First big wind of the season hit late in the day on the 23rd and kept us in the slip...

This weeks mid-range trips produced nice kings with some other fun fish mixed in too. Afternoon coastal shark trips found excellent action on 10-20 lb spinner and sharpnose, dusky’s to 150 lb. and a 200+ lb. sand tiger. Pushed offshore three days this week. One day was a rough & sporty bust. Second trip produced some very tiny blackfin tuna and a white marlin release and the most recent a...

More kings, some mahi and sharks. Spent this week trying my best to avoid all the WMO madness while still putting our customers on the meat. Kings were fairly cooperative most days even a few limits. Slipped offshore for one day but only managed a couple nice gaffer mahi. Evening shark trips have been mixed, one day nonstop action the next, nary a pull.

With the tuna still MIA for the most part and offshore mahi fishing VERY hit or miss most crew are opting for the less expensive sure thing….KINGS!  And while you do need to weed through the trash (fat alberts & blues) the pay off is delicious and the cherry on top of the sundae…when the occasional mahi finds your hook. Paddled out to the canyons on Saturday and went one for two on white...

King Mack attack and more mahi. Fished around some wind early in the week and managed to piece together some good catches despite the rough conditions. Things slowed down mid/late week but still managed several kings and a mahi or two on most trips. Things improved on Saturday & Sunday with a nice action on the kings and several mahi to 18#.

Slow tuna fishing in the canyons has our parties making the wise choice and opting to fill their coolers with other tasty options. This week yielded great catches of triggerfish and king mackerel with a few nice mahi mixed in as well. Action slacked off late in the week but came back strong on Saturday and Sunday.

Out with an ambitious plan with a crew from Lancaster PA, find a cobia will to take Charles’s fly. Cruised around the nearshore //shoals looking for the “man in the brown suit”. Finally we spot two, one jumbo and one small guy. Of course, the small guy jumps on a jig before the fly can get in position. After that, the big boy just swims off. Moved over to a shallow wreck and spent a few...

Out with the same lucky crew as last year for the Ocean City Tuna Tournament. Friday starts out slow but we finally get the right bite late in the morning and after a struggle we have Kylleigh’s 88# bluefin in the box. Spent the rest of day #1 looking for the elusive “under” bluefin but to no avail. Day #2 was a struggle. No bluefin bites only monster bluefish and king mackerel. Fortunately...
