It's like the movie Groundhog Day. Three days of wind and two crews that were cool with doing some fun fishing close to the beach for a few hours. Atlantic Bonita (aka: greenie) bite was very good for both trips. Sent both crews home with some prime cuts ready for the grill that will make some of the finest fish dip you ever will eat.

Two identical days right down to the fact of how far off the forecast was and not in a good way. The trolling portion of each day only yielded a couple fat alberts while the tile fish portion was good but challenging due to the stiff breeze and crazy fast drift.

Three days of stiff winds forced one cancel and two different half day trips. The nearshore trolling was Okay on the first day but pretty darn poor on the second. The catches included Bluefish, Atlantic Bonita, Spanish Mackerel and Frigate Mackerel.

Today's crew have two days reserved with us. One for a fun inexpensive trip and tomorrow for a deep drop trip.  The only caveat is todays catch needs to be good eating. With flounder fishing very subpar and the spanish mackerel not around in good numbers our only option for is trying to find a few keeper sea bass. Ran to the same area that was so good to us yesterday. After a few hours of trolling with nothing to show but a throwback yellowfin and hearing similar chatter on the radio I offer to take the guys tile fishing. The bite was red hot and even though we only had 2 hours to fish we came home just 3 shy of our limit. I think the motto of this season should be "consistently inconsistent"

Out for the yearly trip with Eric and the guys but they were one man shy thanks to a little too much arm bending the night before. Our first encounter takes about an hour. One of our flat lines gets crushed by white marlin and after a 15 minute flight we have the fish next to the boat for pictures. I turn north towards the Baltimore canyon in absolutely hateful head sea. About 3 miles south of...

Ran north to the bluefin grounds in zero visibility. Fished by radar for the first hour until my nerves were totally shot. Move a couple miles offshore to a little hill and as soon as we came up the edge my way back gets hit. Whatever we have on is not fighting like a tuna. About 20 ft from the boat the fish pops to the surface and I'm  looking at a 70-80 lb wahoo. The bugger shakes his head and...
