Finally fishing again after the big storm. Ran east today with a crew of 4 from the Philly area. Started on some gear figuring I’d be the only boat there……WRONG! Boats to the north, boats to the south. We were only able to cover 3 balls before bumping into other boats doing the same thing. Since the remaining gear has already been hit we decide to throw out a marlin spread and start looking. As I push east we run across a thin trash/weed line. After following the line for about an hour a white pops up on our flat line. After an impressive display we have Jim’s marlin at the boat for pics. Our next encounter comes about an hour later A pair of lobster balls allow us to add a couple more mahi to the box before ending the day by breaking off a crazed marlin after about 5 minutes.
