Made a short 8 mile run with a crew of teenagers looking for a little fun. Spent the first part of the day hammering the taylor bluefish. A day out with John, Emmy and friends. The decision is made to keep the boat in motion and troll today. Morning bite is good allowing us to put four mahi in the box as well a our first king mackerel of the year and one turkey. Sometime around noon Emmy’s luck ran put and our bites ended.

A big run south with Tigger and the boys from Reading PA for some tilefish action. The first two drifts were dead but that all changed on the third drift. Today’s crew did not wish to tilefish so we pulled out the trolling rod and headed east. After about one hour of trolling we found a big flock of turkeys and the guys proceeded to have an absolute ball catching these hard pulling little tunas. Out with a crew of boys (at heart) from PA for a day of fun. These guys didn’t have any preconceived notions about wanting a specific species they just wanted to have fun and bend a rod.
