Arrived at the chunking hole at 6:30 today and counted over 85 boats sitting on anchor. Finally found a little area where we could anchor and set about throwing some chunks. The next few hours sees a slow grubby pick of about one bite per hour including a short battle with a giant ray. The last fish of the day was one of the most tenacious I can remember in a LONG time. You’d have thought this fish was 150 lbs by the fight it put up but it turned out to be just a average 55# yellowfin with a very bad attitude. Our batting average has been pretty good over the last few days not loosing many fish to light leader failure but today we lost as many as we caught only putting 3 in the box out of six bites.
