Today was to be a 18 hour trip but early morning winds and a nasty offshore forecast caused a big change of plans. We threw the lines at 8 am and ran north toward the flounder grounds for a half day of flounder action followed by some nearshore trolling for a bluefin. The flounder bite was red hot but way too many fish (over 25) that measured 15½ to 15¾. The bluefin side of the trip was basically non productive with only one big blow-up on the spreader bar that didn’t come tight and a crazy spinner shark that decided to eat a tuna bait. Back in the slip with 11 flounder in the box.
