The day that NOAA ruined…don’t think the bananas help either. Plugged in the numbers to one of our deep drop holes and set off with a crew of five. At the 30 mile mark we’re down to 15 knots in 4-5 foot seas right on our nose, forecast was only calling for 2 to 3. Decided there would be no way to drop in these conditions so we come up with a different plan. I run to a wreck 5 miles away but it only yields a couple keepers. With no butterfish but some squids we try a couple drifts for yellowfin but no takers and don’t see any other boats hooked-up. We pick up lines and run to a sea bass area and am pleasantly surprised with the keeper to throw-back ratio. Back in the slip with a very respectable number of tasty sea bass.
