A week of very unsettled weather found us sitting at dock way too much. Of those crews who did decide to go, many were forced to hang within 25 miles of the beach due to the offshore winds and waves. These crews were rewarded with outstanding action on small mahi, false albacore and a few spanish mackerel. Our one canyon run on the 14th was a bust. The gear which had been there and holding fish last week was GONE! The wind which wasn’t to be an issue hit crazy hard at 10:00 am forcing us to point the boat toward the inlet. Just a couple marlin bites and this pair of super nice (and very understanding) guys from western PA really only wanted “meat” fish.
