A few days of nasty offshore and strong afternoon west winds force the crew to decide to cancel or hang within 20 miles and target smaller fish. All decide to have some fun while giving up the hopes of monster fish. The smallish mahi are thick on the inside gear and while most are released some of the larger ones, still small compared to their offshore brothers, are taken for the table. Days are ended on one of the nearshore hills bending the rod on spanish mackerel and snapper bluefish.
