With some stiff overnight winds we push today’s leave time back sixty minutes to give the ocean time to clam down a bit but at the 20 mile mark my plan doesn’t seem to be working. The group of three tell me to keep going so onward we go. Arrived at the chunking hill to find three other boats, all 50′ plus. First two drifts produce one bite each but both fish pull off. Next drift is better going two for three on yellowfin. The next couple add two more yf to the box as well as a false albacore which we’re glad to have for upcoming mahi trip bait. With ninety minutes left in the day the crew says they have plenty of meat and tells me to head for the barn.
