Today begins with a 56 mile run north toward some tilefish grounds looking to fill the box. The bite was outstanding and we reach our limit by 9:15 am. Joey sets out a trolling spread and I point the boat west. About forty-five minutes later a white marlin pops up behind out tuna chain. Joey pulls the chain away while he drops back a flat line circle hook rig and the marlin takes the bait. After a spectacular aerial display we have the white next to the boat for some pics before being released to fight again. We continue west and after another 30 minutes a huge wahoo explodes on our shot gun bait. Everything is going right until the fish make a sudden turn and blistering run that the angler just can’t keep up with and the fish shakes the hook. Our next bite is twenty minutes later and this 45# wahoo stays connected and joins the tilefish in the box, The guys have plenty of fish and decide to call it a day.
