Out with DNR Ron and his crew for a day of tilefish action. Bite was good with a mixed bag of bluelines and small goldens. The boat limit was reached shortly before noon so we throw out a quick trolling spread and head west. In the next hour we see four marlin in our spread. The first gets bill wrapped and breaks the leader after a series of jumps. The next fish smashes the long rigger and after a great battle with a very acrobatic white Ron finally has his first white marlin. The last two are just window shopping and don’t take the bait. Last bite of the day is a 8# mahi.
