Ran east today with a trio from PA. Two of the guys fished with me seven years ago, one has never been out before. The seas are extremely mixed up and after about 90 minutes of running the two veterans aren’t doing to well. Turns out the one fellow’s doctor called in a prescription for over-the-counter Dramamine instead of the patch which was to be ordered so the guy bailed at the pharmacy and didn’t get anything. Spent the next few hours with a constant stream of turkeys as well as a nice 15 lb. mahi. I make a run to the sea bass grounds to see if there are anymore keepers around. Both vets are starting to get their sea legs and are feeling better so we’re able to send down three rods instead of one. The bite is outstanding and even though we only had short time to fish the guys are able to add 17 keeper sea bass to the box while releasing dozens of unders.
