Out with a super nice couple for a day of offshore action. Things began quickly as our flat line takes off before TD can finish setting the entire spread. We have no idea what we’ve hooked when suddenly a white marlin starts jumping behind the boat. Our lady angler takes the rod as I get the boat turned. The crazed fish make a blistering run then turns and charges the boat and throws the hook. Our next happens about two minutes later when a white smacks at a bait and then swims off. Other than a few small mystery bites that was our morning. I troll north looking for some warmer water when out of the blue we get hit by a pair of mahi and one makes it in the box. I spend the next 90 minutes working a small area that for some unknown reason is holding some fish. Ended the day about an hour early with 10 mahi in the box.
