Made a big run south today with a full crew from Bel Air MD. Worked the gear trying to entice some very spooky baler size mahi with light tackle to take our baits all the while trying to stay ahead of the nearby lobster boat hauling the gear. After a couple hours of very limited success I point the boat north toward the 100 fathom line. After 90 minutes of nothing we hit a light trash/weed line. Within five minutes we get nailed by a couple gaffer mahi. Two throw the hook almost immediately but we’re able to put the other two in the box, one is a 25# very odd shaped bull. Continued to work this area the rest of the day but it only produced a couple small bites.
