Made a run to our bluefin grounds today based on some info I got last evening from a fellow captain. Our first bite takes about an hour and we put a “under” in the box. The next fish comes shortly thereafter and we put another “under” in the box. Spent the next two hours looking around before a nice 45″ under explodes on a spreaderbar. With the boat in neutral our wwb takes off and I’m sure we have our “over” on the line. Fifteen minutes later I hear Dave say “you’ve gotta be kidding”. Turns out we foul hooked a 100 lb. sandbar shark, something I only ever remember doing one time before…Ready for this…its the same angler on the rod. Bruce’s new nickname, Sharky. In a little early due to the charters four hour drive home.
