Pushed east today with a crew of three looking for some tuna action before the forecast 25 knot winds hit us. The first 45 minutes are non spectacular but that quickly changes when I turn on some small tunas working some bait right next to the boat. POW four rods go off as the big bluefin who must have been under the “shorts” explode on our baits. The first fish gets the gaff, a 60″ 120# fatty. Two other similar size fish are released and one breaks off. The next few hours provide plenty of action on “over bluefin, one under bluefin and a surprise 35# yellowfin.
