Another big run, even farther than yesterday. Thing started off good with a fat yellowfin in the box less than 15 minutes after the first bait hit the water. Now these fish have been have been shutting down every morning at some point and today that point seemed to be right after we landed that first fish. Trolled around the rest of the morning like everyone else counting the minutes until the afternoon bite turns on which happened to be around 1:00 today. Made a turn on some skipjacks and six lines go down but all but one turned out to be undersized yellowfin, the other fish was a mahi which was added to our lonely yellowfin in the box. A couple minutes later and my bridge rod takes off 1000 mph then goes slack, our first wahoo bite off of the season. Our final bite had a big yellowfin explode on a cedar plug the mate was jigging. Unfortunately, the angler couldn’t keep the line tight and with too much slack the fish shook the hook.
