Ran south today with world famous chef Nader Gebrin of Huntington Long Island and two of his best friends Geno & Tony. In our sights for today were golden tilefish and nothing else. Arrived at the spot to find horrible conditions. Man did NOAA blow this forecast! Drifting at nearly 2.5 knots required the guys to use 4 lbs of lead and even then we had a terrible time keeping the baits on the bottom. Conditions never improved but we managed to pick away at the fish and by the days end we had 14 in the box. The heart brake of the day was when a shark ate Nader’s huge golden only feet away from the boat.
