A day with the DRN crew starts with a tough decision, deep drop or chunk. The allure of tuna wins out so we grab a couple flats out of the freezer and head east. Spent nearly two hours at our first spot with a pull or seeing any other boats doing battle. Made a move south and as our anchor line is coming tight I see two nearby boats doing battle. Hopes are high as we put out the baits but after some time and only seeing one other boat hooked up hopes fade. Dave continues to throw chunks as I commiserate with Capt. Mark and Capt. Jeremy who are right next to us and still waiting for their first bites too. Back in the slip with the proverbial “skunk” in the box.
