Today began with lots of discussion about the days forecast. The decision is made to try and get to the lump where the tuna have been holding and then come back closer to shore for the last few hours and try and put some kings in the box. As we clear the north jetty its apparent the north winds have already started and the guys decide to pass on the tuna and hang tight to the beach and look for some kings. The king mackerel bite is better than I’ve seen it years and by 9 am we have our limit and head back to the dock in order to get one guy, who’s not having a good day, back on solid land.
