Out with a couple of my favorite guys for a day of tuna action. After a short ride we start setting the spread. As I’m locking the drag down on the one bridge rod the other one gets slammed. The fish peels drag for a couple seconds and as I’m lifting the rod out of the holder I feel something give and the like goes slack. Reeled in all that line to find the crimp broke. Trolled around for another hour with no takers so we decide to go to the dark side (chunking). The next couple hours are great, the only downside, all the fish are overs. Bite slowed a little around noon and shortly after that the guys called it a day with our biggest bluefin of the year in the box a 54″ 86 pound fatty.
