The folks today opted to save some money and do the 8 hr mid range trip instead of the 12 hr canyon which was scheduled. After spending some time on a nearby shoal and putting one spanish mackerel and a couple greenies in the box they ask if we could look for a mahi or two. We run to some fish trap gear and within the first 30 minutes we have three mahi in the box. Worked the gear for a while longer with a couple more bites that don’t come tight.
