After what seemed like forever Fin Chaser’s season got off to a good albeit somewhat sporty start. Fridays opening of black sea bass season found the entire fleet opting to stay tied at dock. Saturday greeted us with stiff winds and sporty seas but we pushed east despite the conditions. The bite was outstanding with a keeper/throwback of about 4:1. Unfortunately a couple greenhorns just couldn’t take the seas and we called it a day after only a few hours. Our second trip left dock at 12:30 pm in similar conditions. The bite held on and with about an hour left in the day we hit our limit (90) and head home tired and a little sore.
