Ran 45 mile east today with a crew from TX who regularly fish the oil rigs in the Gulf. Morning was boring with only two short bites so just before noon we put the stick up (greenstick).  About 45 minutes late I swing through a fresh slick and a nice 45# yf blasts out of the water missing the dangler. A second explosion, missed again. Joey pulls the line down and his third blast finally takes the hook. A few minutes later and we have him in the box. Worked the area for the rest of the day but only have one other big bite that doesn’t come tight.
